Texas A&M University, College of Science

Undergraduate Scholarships

Unless otherwise noted, all scholarships are applied for using the general Texas A&M online scholarship application.

Application Period and Award Date:

  • Application period annually between October 15 through February 1
  • Awardee notified before close of spring semester
  • Scholarship awarded over following academic year (Fall/Spring)

In keeping with University Rule 13.03.99.M1 Scholarships are awarded either on the basis of academic criteria or any combination of academics, financial need, campus/community activities, leadership positions, and work experience. Additionally, some scholarships are awarded on the basis of a special talent or skill or a federal agency's criteria (e.g. National Science Foundation). Scholarships are designed to reward, encourage and assist students in pursuing academic excellence and leadership roles.

Students have the right to appeal to the Undergraduate Program Committee if they feel a scholarship was awarded in an arbitrary manner and they feel they were the more qualified applicant. They may also appeal to the committee if a decision was made to remove their scholarship for lack of adequate progress. Appeals must be in writing and include any compelling evidence or documentation of extenuating circumstances.
