The Department of Chemistry will host the Industrial University Chemistry Cooperative Program (IUCCP) General and Pharmaceutical Research in Chemistry Symposium Monday-Wednesday (Sept. 23-25). The aim of the symposium is two-fold: to provide an overview of current research at Texas A&M and to introduce senior graduate students and post-doctoral associates to industrial recruiters. The program includes oral and poster presentations given by graduate and undergraduate students and post-doctoral fellows from more than 30 research groups and covers a wide variety of topics: natural products and biological chemistry; catalysis, polymers and analytical chemistry; coordination chemistry and organometallics; instrumentation and spectroscopy; kinetic, mechanistic and structural studies; surface science and solid state chemistry and chemical synthesis. The symposium is also intended for industrial recruiters, research scientists, and students and faculty from neighboring institutions. There will be opportunities to visit different research groups and to interview graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The schedule of events can be found at http://www.chem.tamu.edu/iuccp/events.html. For more information, contact Julie Wilson firstname.lastname@example.org or 845-5345.
