, will be honored December 1 by Texas A&M University and The Association of Former Students with a 2009 President's Meritorious Service Award, Texas A&M Interim President Dr. R. Bowen Loftin announced Tuesday.
Forman, a member of the chemistry department staff since 1990, is one of 25 individual staff members honored with Texas A&M's highest award for staff.
The campus community is invited to attend the award presentation ceremony honoring Forman and the other 2009 outstanding staff members at 10:30 a.m. next Tuesday (Dec. 1). Due to the construction at the Memorial Student Center, this year's program will be held at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center (PCC) at the George Bush Presidential Library Center, in the Hagler Auditorium. Each honoree will receive a commemorative plaque and a $500 check.
Established in 1986, the President's Meritorious Service Awards are presented annually to recognize 25 outstanding staff employees and one outstanding team for their meritorious service to the university. Nominations are typically called for during the month of September, and an anonymous committee appointed by the president selects the recipients. The program, which is sponsored by the Office of the President and The Association of Former Students, is coordinated by Texas A&M University Employee Services.
A complete list of the recipients is available on the Human Resources website at http://employees.tamu.edu
