Texas A&M University will join with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas to sponsor the 4th International Conference on Environmetrics and Chemometrics Sept. 18-20 in Las Vegas.

"Environmetrics and chemometrics are interdisciplinary fields," said Clifford Spiegelman, a statistics professor at Texas A&M University. "Environmetrics is the interface between the life sciences, statistics and computer science, and chemometrics is the interface between chemistry, statistics and computer science."

The conference will feature experts in the areas of chemometrics, sampling theory, statistics, ecology and environmental science. Topics of discussion include spatial statistics, sampling and experimental design, ecology and risk assessment, computer models and case studies.

There also will be poster presentations and vendor demonstrations and several short courses will be offered as well.
