How do you keep the enthusiasm for Texas
A&M as bright as the day your candidate signed their
contract? Follow through.
Before the first day
- Make sure the hand-off from being recruited to beginning
employment is well connected. Consider assigning a pre-arrival
mentor, inform the new hire of the campus New
Faculty Orientation, and treat everyone's start-up with
equal attention to all details.
- Make sure the new hire has a mentor for ‘settling
in' for the first semester, then assure the new hire has
mentors for career progression.
- Assure formal feedback is clear in what it says and understood
by the employee
- Create an environment where equitable help is offered to
all
