MEETING UPDATES

The External Advisory & Development Council meets twice yearly. Generally, the Spring meeting incorporates a reception and donor recognition dinner followed by a one-day meeting, while the Fall meeting is a one-day informal working meeting of the Council.

External Advisory & Development Council (EADC)

The External Advisory & Development Council (EADC) serves to assist, advise, and support the College of Science in its efforts to enhance the scholarship, educational, and service functions of its various programs.

Overview

The EADC's primary activities include:

• Faculty and Student Development - To assist the College in the identification of sources of funding for endowed chairs, named professorships, undergraduate scholarships, and graduate student fellowships. It will seek to establish dependable sources of funding for faculty and student recruiting, faculty development, and new faculty research support
• Research Development - To assist the College in establishing permanent and temporary sources of funding for acquiring research equipment, upgrading research facilities, and providing "seed money" project support. It will assist in establishing ties between sources of directed research funding and faculty of the College
• Program Development - To assist the College in identifying areas within private business and the community where the educational programs of the college can be promoted. The Council will assist the College in identifying sources of support for these various programs.
